Our community is nestled in the heart of the picturesque Beaver Valley of Northwest Kansas. It is surrounded by the natural beauty of golden wheat fields and lush green ranches. Atwood boasts a friendly atmosphere, excellent educational system, and hard work ethic from which the city was born in 1875. Our local airport and golf course are acknowledged as the region’s best, and the community hosts pheasant hunters from across the nation each autumn. Deer, quail, and wild turkey also delight the native outdoorsmen as well as visitors. The community offers a vibrant downtown area that includes several eating establishments, grocery store, dry goods, pharmacy, electronics, movie theatre, bowling alley, museum, and hardware store.
