Temple is a Central Texas city on I-35, 34 miles south of Waco and 68 miles north of Austin. It grew up around a railroad junction established in 1881, and that history is preserved at the Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum in the historic Santa Fe Depot and at the Czech Heritage Museum and Genealogy Center.
The city maintains more than 60 parks and 20 trails, three recreation centers, and a family water park, and it hosts events such as the Bloomin’ Temple Festival and a Christmas parade. Temple ISD includes a high school that offers the International Baccalaureate curriculum. Downtown is being revitalized, with the Santa Fe Market Trail and a growing mix of local shops, restaurants, and breweries
